Honey Provenance

Customers scan QR codes on your honey to verify authenticity

Overview

Honey Provenance lets your customers verify the authenticity and origin of your honey by scanning a QR code on the jar. The code links to a public page showing the specific hive, harvest date, and floral sources β€” building trust and justifying premium pricing.

Each batch of honey gets a unique verification page that displays the apiary location (at the level of detail you choose), the harvest date, primary nectar sources, and any certifications or notes you want to share.

This feature is especially valuable for farmers market vendors, direct-to-consumer sellers, and anyone wanting to differentiate their honey in a market where adulteration concerns are growing.

How It Works

1

After logging a harvest, enable provenance for that batch.

2

Customize the public-facing information you want to share.

3

Generate the QR code and add it to your jar labels via Label Studio.

4

Customers scan the code to view your honey's story on a branded verification page.

Tips & Best Practices

  • πŸ’‘Include your apiary story and photos β€” customers love seeing where their honey comes from.
  • πŸ’‘Provenance codes add perceived value and justify a higher price point.
  • πŸ’‘The verification page works even if the customer doesn't have the app installed.
