Overview
AI Vision Analysis uses Google Gemini to instantly diagnose pests, diseases, and colony health issues from a single photo. Snap a picture of a frame, brood pattern, or hive entrance and receive a detailed AI assessment within seconds.
The analysis identifies common issues like varroa mites, American foulbrood, chalkbrood, small hive beetles, and wax moth damage. It can also assess brood patterns, estimate bee population density, and detect queen cells.
Results are saved to your inspection history, building a visual timeline of your colony's health over time. The AI improves its context by considering your hive's history and previous analyses.
How It Works
Open any hive, start a new inspection, and go to the Actions tab.
Tap "Add Photo of Frame" to take a photo, then tap the "Analyze Frame" button that appears.
The AI analyzes your image and returns a detailed diagnosis within 5–10 seconds.
Review the findings — tap "Use Results" to auto-fill your inspection form, or dismiss.
Tips & Best Practices
- 💡Good lighting dramatically improves accuracy — shoot outdoors or use your phone flashlight.
- 💡For brood disease detection, photograph the capped brood area at a slight angle so cell contents are visible.
- 💡Take photos of both sides of the frame for the most comprehensive analysis.
- 💡The AI works best with close-up shots rather than full-frame overview photos.
