2. Audio Data Collection (Voice Scribe)
Strict Privacy Commitment: Pocket Hive collects audio data solely for the purpose of immediate on-device or secure cloud transcription ("Voice Logging") and acoustic analysis ("Hive Health").
Processing & Retention:
- Audio recordings are sent to secure servers (Google Cloud Speech-to-Text) for transcription.
- We do not store your raw audio. Once the text is generated, the audio file is permanently deleted from our servers.
- We do not sell, share, or listen to your recordings for human quality assurance.
User Obligation: You agree NOT to record or upload any audio containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII), protected health information, financial data, or sensitive personal data of yourself or any third party.
3. Image Data & AI Analysis
Photos & Visual Intelligence: When you use features like "Digital Twin" or AI inspection via camera, we upload images to secure third-party AI providers (Google Gemini) to extract beekeeping data (e.g., frame counts, pest detection).
No Training on User Data: Your photos are processed transiently to provide the service. We do not use your personal hive photos to train public AI models or share them with advertisers.
User Obligation: You agree NOT to capture or upload images containing identifiable human faces, license plates, private property landmarks not owned by you, or any other Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
4. Location Data
We collect your location data only when you grant explicit permission. This data is used exclusively to:
- Retrieve hyper-local weather conditions for your apiary.
- Predict local nectar flows (Bloom) based on your geographic region.
We do NOT track your background location movements or sell your location history.
5. Children's Privacy
Pocket Hive is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your hive inspection data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers. We employ industry-standard security measures, including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit and AES encryption for data at rest.
Disclaimer of Absolute Security: While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.
7. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App. These partners adhere to strict data protection standards:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Database, and Analytics.
- RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing.
- Google Gemini / Vertex AI: AI processing for images and audio.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these third-party services. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party service providers you engage with through our App.
8. Browser Storage & Do Not Track
We use browser localStorage to remember your language preference. This data never leaves your device. We do not use functional or tracking cookies on our marketing website.
Do Not Track (DNT) Signals: Some web browsers incorporate a "Do Not Track" feature. Because there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, our website does not currently respond to them.
9. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Right to Portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
10. Account Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the App:
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the action. This will permanently remove your user profile, inspection logs, and photos from our servers effectively immediately.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time based on new features or legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Application and Service after the effective date of any modifications to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
